AprilAire e-Series Dehumidifiers

2 minute read

As Healthy Air experts, you know that humidity control is essential for protecting health and homes. Excess moisture can lead to mold, pest infestation, and warping of woodwork/trim. Controlling the relative humidity in a home can also reduce the spread of bacteria and viruses, the symptoms of asthma, and other respiratory conditions   ̶   all while increasing comfort. In addition to added health and comfort, decreasing the moisture level in a home helps the air conditioning to run more efficiently, thus saving homeowners on energy costs.

At AprilAire, delivering Healthy Air is our mission, and humidity control is a fundamental component of healthy air. In our ongoing efforts to produce the best Healthy Air Solutions for contractors, we present our e-series line of dehumidifiers. e-series dehumidifiers feature increased energy efficiency and moisture removal capacity while maintaining our gold-standard ease of installation and a wide variety of install applications.

Models E080, E100, and E130 are all recognized as ENERGY STAR Most Efficient® for 2021 – the first whole-home dehumidifiers to receive this certification – delivering 23% annual energy savings above conventional products. Removing more moisture with less energy means greater performance and healthier air for homeowners.

Models E080, E100, and E100C feature greater moisture removal capacity than their previous iterations (models 1830, 1850, and 1852). Model E080 now removes 80 pints of moisture from the air per day, and Models E100 and E100C now remove 100 pints per day. e-series dehumidifier capacities range from 70 to 130 pints per day, overall, which allows you to select the right size dehumidifier for the job.

As always, AprilAire e-series dehumidifiers are easy to install right out of the box. They include easy-to-access wiring connections and a digital interface that makes set-up quick and painless. Our wide range of models includes options with leveling feet, casters, or hardwired powering options. Duct collars are included for flexibility with different applications. We didn’t make any changes to our current installation methods – so if you are familiar with installing 1800 series models, then installing e-series dehumidifiers will be a breeze!

Optimizing Indoor Air: The Role of Humidifiers in Energy-Efficient Homes

< 1 minute read

Modern homes are built for maximum energy efficiency, reducing natural ventilation, and limiting the amount of dry outdoor air entering the home during the heating season. This has led to a misconception that humidifiers are unnecessary in newer homes. Research shows that without a humidifier, indoor humidity levels drop below what’s needed to maintain comfort and preserve the home. HVAC professionals play a key role in addressing this issue by recommending and installing humidifiers to ensure proper Indoor Air Quality and balanced moisture levels for customers.

The Growing Need for Better Indoor Air Quality

< 1 minute read

With 1 in 5 Americans suffering from asthma and allergies, Indoor Air Quality is a major concern. HVAC professionals play a key role in addressing this issue by recommending effective air filtration solutions.

Whole-Home Electronic Air Cleaners: A High-Performance Solution

Unlike standard mechanical filters, electronic air cleaners (EACs) use an electric charge to capture even the smallest airborne particles, providing superior filtration throughout the home. Installed within the HVAC system, they effectively remove allergens, dust, and other contaminants.

Why Recommend an Electronic Air Cleaner?

  • Higher Efficiency – EACs outperform traditional filters, especially for tiny airborne particles
  • Comprehensive Air Filtration – Integrated with the HVAC system, they clean air in every room
  • Ideal for Allergy & Asthma Sufferers – Helps reduce triggers like dust, pollen, and pet dander

While industry testing standards for EACs are still evolving, independent studies confirm their effectiveness. Offering whole-home electronic air cleaners gives contractors a high-value solution to improve IAQ and enhance customer satisfaction.
